Casey Hill, Senior Innovation Strategist

In 2008 Casey joined RIM BlackBerry as Vice President of Intellectual Property Management & Strategy reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.  His role was to build and staff an entire IP organizational structure in a notably fast growing company. Across an organization of 16,000, hundreds of targeted ideas and dozens of  high quality filings were generated within the first year.
Prior to joining RIM, Casey was with Motorola Inc. for 23 years where he held a held a diverse set of business, sales, management, technical and product positions.  Most recently as Director of Intellectual Property reporting to the SVP, Law Department.  Casey managed over 30,000 patent assets and approval of more than 200 IP agreements each year.

Casey is a known industry IP leader and has received many corporate and industry awards for leadership in standards, innovation, publications,  licensing, patent inventions (41 US patents) and technology.

Speaker, and Author, Casey is a member of the IEEE, LES (CLP), and IPO and has received commendations for volunteer work with Brazilian Poverty in Rio de Janeiro, Make a Wish Foundation in Illinois, and Trans World Radio Broadcasting in the Netherlands Antilles.
