Gary Grube
Gary Grube, Founder, President and CEO Caerus InstituteMember, IIT IP Management & Markets Advisory CouncilEvery inventor is an engineer, but not every engineer is an inventor. A good innovator has a creative knack, the ability to close one’s eyes and envision a picture. A great innovator also has that knack, but can then take the vision further, connecting all the dots of technology, business, patents, end user and differentiation, to produce a product and bring it to market. Gary Grube is a great innovator. The former CTO of Motorola’s $5 billion Commercial, Government, and Industrial Solutions has 107 issued patents in wireless, semiconductors, software, system architectures and standards enablers. As president and CEO of the Caerus Institute of Open Innovation, Grube utilizes his skills for connecting emerging technologies to future market opportunities and creating early inventions and patents around those spaces, helping technology companies bring their innovative visions to life by forming intellectual property strategies and managing the tactical execution of the strategy. With more than 25 years in the communications equipment industry, Grube has made significant contributions to the creation of entirely new industries including cellular, broadband, and digital two-way, and the establishment of industry-building standards in cellular and land mobile spaces. Grube is also credited with designing the first IP communication system for public safety agencies and has been called upon several times by the U.S. Congress to testify on matters related to homeland security communications. Prior to his appointment as senior fellow and director of Motorola’s Wireless and Solutions Research labs, Grube served as a senior technologist and general manager of several large research and development engineering teams. A frequent public speaker and conference panelist, Grube is known in the industry for his ability to see, shape, and deliver the future. He serves on several industry, university advisory, and non-profit boards. Grube received an MBA from Northwestern University, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. |
